Jaigarh Fort

Amer Fort / Amber Fort

Jal Mahal

The Mahal was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. True to the name it earned as the ‘Palace of the Winds’, Hawa Mahal has 953 windows to provide respiration. The five-level building does not have steps to reach upper floors. Slants attach the storeys and it is said that the Mahal was built to allow the Royal women of Rajput family to watch the affairs in the city. Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh constructed the Hawa Mahal in 1799. Jantar Mantar

The other four astronomical observatories are located at Delhi, Varanasi, Mathura and Ujjain. It features the world’s largest stone sundial, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Jantar Mantar was built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh II and completed in 1738 AD. The name is derived from jantar means yantra and mantar means calculation. The Jaipur observatory was functional for seven years only, as the Maharaja was not very successful in deriving accurate, astronomical observations. It was later restored in the year 1901 and was declared as a national monument in the year 1948. |

Nahargarh Fort

In English, this Nahrgarg Fort translates to the Tiger Fort. The Nahargarh Fort walls wind along the hills of the mountains. Standing on the fort walls you will overlook locality with intense action. If you reach before sunset you can walk through the wax museum. The homes on the perimeters of the sand banks were almost deluge in sand. Hundreds of children play cricket and games on the dunes as we watched the last light of the day vanish underneath the skyline. The fort provides some spacious frame of references of the city nearby and therefore is a famous picnic fun spot for natives.
